1,000 elderly islanders will be given afternoon tea hampers this Liberation Day.
Guernsey's older residents living in care homes and in the community will be able to scoff scones and drink tea on May 9.
The hampers will be delivered on the morning of 9 May - arriving in an authentic-looking Red Cross Box with a ration card inside.
Dawn Gallienne is from Guernsey Post, which is sponsoring the hampers.
"Liberation Day is such an important day in our island’s history, and we hope everyone enjoys the gesture."
Deputy Sue Aldwell from Education, Sport and Culture explains that there will be lots for Guernsey's older generation to look forward to.
"This year we are so pleased to be working with Age Concern and the WRVS Meals on Wheels service to make sure that even more of our older residents of Guernsey can enjoy afternoon tea and join in with the celebrations for Liberation Day.
"Many will also be able to view the Island-wide cavalcade from the comfort of their own homes too."
Organisers will also be delivering 200 afternoon teas to Age Concern group meetings during the week leading up to Liberation Day and 134 recipients of Meals on Wheels will be given slices of Guernsey Gauche, tea and butter.
