Islanders are being reminded to dispose of batteries properly following a fire.
Island Waste has shared CCTV footage of a battery bursting into flames at the processing site in Bulwer Avenue.
Staff can be seen standing nearby and quickly evacuating to safety.
The organisation says despite repeated awareness campaigns, batteries are still being disposed of incorrectly, in general/mixed waste and recycling.
They warn this can cause serious fires, with "devastating consequences".
Guernsey Fire & Rescue Service shared the safety message on social media:
"Incidents like this can escalate rapidly and put staff and the wider community at risk.
"Batteries must never go in general waste or mixed recycling.
"Even small household batteries can ignite under pressure, causing serious fires."
