A speeding motorist has been arrested after being caught driving at 91mph.
Bailiwick Law Enforcement says the driver was doing nearly three times the legal speed limit on the Vazon coast road last night.
A police spokesperson says that speed is too fast for a UK motorway, never mind local roads:
"Be under no illusion, you make a mistake at that speed and it’s highly unlikely you’ll be walking away from it - nor will anyone else you hit.
"There is no time or place on this island where it’s safe to go anywhere near that speed - it is lethal level and it has no place on our roads."
It comes as police are trying to raise awareness of safe driving during Road Safety Week.
Officers say 'nothing is worth driving so fast you put lives on the line'.
