Guernsey Post announces tracked service along with letter price increases

Guernsey's postal tariffs will change on 1 April 2026, and a new service will allow islanders to track letters and parcels heading to the UK.

From 1 April, the cost of sending a standard UK letter will rise by around 6% (8p) to £1.45.

Local letter prices will increase by about 9% (6p), bringing the cost to 75p.

Meanwhile, Guernsey Post has confirmed that all parcel rates will remain unchanged.

Chief Executive, Steve Sheridan, says although the company has faced ongoing cost pressures in its supply chain, it has chosen to absorb a 'significant proportion' of the extra costs rather than pass them on to customers.

“Although we need to make selective adjustments to some rates to ensure we can maintain a reliable and sustainable postal service for the island, we are pleased to be able to freeze all parcel rates, locally, to the UK, Europe and International destinations."

He says they are working on introducing a tracked service this Summer for letters and parcels heading to the UK.

“Following valuable customer feedback, we will be introducing a competitively priced tracked service in early Summer.

"This is part of our ongoing commitment to support the full range of customers we serve – from islanders posting everyday items to established business and retail customers and our growing ecommerce community.

"We expect this new service to be especially helpful for businesses and individuals who sell through platforms such as eBay and Vinted.”
