More than 700 supporters turned up to the Green Lionness's first home game.
Donning their brand new purple home kit the Green Lionesses played their first home match at Footes Lane last night (5 February).
706 people attended, packing The Garenne Stand, cheering and chanting.
The locals had an early start against Sutton United when Calleigh Headley scored the first goal on home soil.
Coach Anna Gauvain says it was a superb shot.
"She lifted it over the goalkeeper from about 20 yards out.
As soon as she hit it, the ball was destined for the back of the net, I think it came off the underside of the bar, and that sent the crowd a little bit crazy.
It was great to start the game so strongly."
Sutton United scored twice in each half, winning 4-1, and progressing to the next round of the Combined Counties Women's Cup.
Anna says despite the score, the experience for the players and enthusiasm from the crowd made it a historic night.
"Seeing the stand full and the constant noise and the crowd getting behind the girls was really amazing, such an experience for them all."
Anna hopes to expand the team and play against more teams.
