Night Buses Suspended After Drivers Threatened

Guernsey Police have been asked to investigate a number of incidents where drivers have been threatened by passengers.

A spokesperson for CT Plus says that drivers on the night bus routes have been threatened on many separate occasions.

"Since the easing of lock-down there have unfortunately been too many examples where a small minority of passengers have threatened bus drivers. The Police have been required to be involved in these matters on occasions."

The company says the decison to stop the services will be reviewed at the end of April.

"This decision is not taken likely and is not influenced by the current driver shortage. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. However, the safety of both staff and passengers is upmost, and it is with regret that the service is being suspended."

CT Plus introduced the night bus service to Guernsey in 2017 and has extended the routes served due to their popularity. Passengers pay a single fixed fare.
