The Philippines Ambassador to the UK is visiting Guernsey.
His Excellency Teodoro Lopez Locsin Jr is touring the Channel Islands this week to strengthen international relations.
He started the week in Jersey, where he attended a memorial service to two Filipino fisherman - Jervis Baligat and Larry Simyunn- who died alongside their skipper Michael Michieli when their trawler collided with a freight ship off Jersey's west coast in December 2022.
His Excellency is also meeting government officials to talk about business opportunities with the islands.
At last count, there were 471 Filipino nationals living in Guernsey, while Jersey's community is around 600.
Mr Locsin says his job as Ambassador is to protect the interests of his country's nationals abroad.
"That's why I'm here, to see how they are."
