To help more people enjoy the night sky, a resident of Sark has published a free app.
Colin Davis, who is working as a chef in Sark, says he has always been fascinated by the night sky.
After pointing out stars and planets to colleagues, he decided to teach himself app development.
Four months later, he's released an Android astronomy app called Naked Eye.
It uses a compass-like feature to show users where planets and stars are located. It also sends alerts when space stations, meteor showers, or auroras are visible overhead.
Colin hopes it will make astronomy more accessible.
"I lived on Scilly for about 10 years and the skies down there were brilliant and then I've come over to Sark to work and the skies here are just something else they are so so incredible.
"Just sitting talking to my boss trying to explain stuff, what this is what that is, I was like you know what let's build an app to help people.
"To get people outside to get people to have a look there's a massive sky out there, and there's a lot going on.
"There's always a planet or satellites going over, or meteors. There's always so much to see, and it's always fascinated me."
