25% of Jersey A-level grades A-A*

A quarter of all A-level grades in Jersey have been marked as A or A*.

The overall Jersey pass rate is 98.7%, up 0.1% on last year.

25% achieved A* and A, with more than three-quarters securing A* to C passes.

574 students were entered for 1,610 A-level exams.

Minister for Education and Lifelong Learning, Deputy Catherine Curtis, said:

"I’d like to sincerely congratulate everyone receiving their A-Level and Level 3 qualification results today. As you now move towards university, vocational studies, or join the world of work, this is a well-deserved reminder of the hard work and dedication you have shown throughout your studies.  

"My thanks also to teachers, support staff, parents, and carers for the valuable and vital role they’ve played in helping you reach this milestone. I wish you all the best of luck for whatever you decide to do next."

England's pass rate is 78.1%, with 28.3% getting A* and A grades.

Jersey College for Girls:

Every student at Jersey College for Girls passed their exams.

70% were A* to B, and 92% were A* to C.

Principal Carl Howarth said:

"We are immensely proud of our students and all they have achieved. A 100% pass rate and 70% of grades at A* to B are excellent outcomes that reflect the hard work, commitment and perseverance of this exceptional year group.

"What is particularly pleasing is that our value-added performance places us within the top 25% of schools nationally. This demonstrates that students at JCG make exceptional progress from their individual starting points, supported by outstanding teaching, high expectations and a culture that encourages every student to aspire, inquire, excel and belong.

"Today is a celebration not only of academic success, but of the character, resilience and confidence our young women have developed. We congratulate every student on their achievements and wish them every success and happiness as they take their next steps."

Victoria College:

97% of students at Victoria College who applied to university secured places at their first or insurance choices.

12% got A*, 30% received A* to A, 56% achieved A* to B, and 81* secured A* to C grades.

A fifth of pupils achieved at least 3 A*s or As, with one in ten getting at least 2 A*s.

Over 99% of all qualifications were passed A* to E.

Headteacher Dr Gareth Hughes said:

"I am delighted for this year's Upper Sixth students and enormously proud of all they have accomplished. Their time at Victoria College has been defined by determination, resilience and a willingness to embrace challenge.

"The results they receive today are the product of sustained hard work over many years and are thoroughly deserved. These students have led by example, supported one another and played a full part in the rich life of the school.

"They leave Victoria College as capable, confident and compassionate young people, ready to make their mark on the world.

"I would like to thank our dedicated staff and our parents and carers for the guidance and encouragement they have provided throughout these students' educational journeys. It has been a privilege to watch this cohort grow and develop, and I look forward to following their future successes with great interest."

Highlands College:

99% of Highlands College’s sixth form students passed their professional and technical qualifications at the same level as A levels.

Nearly 90% of them have already secured employment, a place at university, or are continuing programmes at Highlands College.

Vice-principal, Kate Hobbs, said:

"We are delighted to celebrate another year of excellent outcomes for our students. Their achievements are the result of hard work, determination and a willingness to embrace new challenges.

"At Highlands College, we are committed to helping every student reach their potential, and it is rewarding to see so many progressing to exciting opportunities in higher education, apprenticeships and employment. We congratulate all our students and look forward to seeing what they achieve next."

Hautlieu School:

Nearly 80% of grades were awarded A* to C.

Interim Headteacher, Kate Blackhall, said:

"These achievements reflect the dedication, resilience and ambition of our students, who have worked incredibly hard to reach this milestone.

"We would like to extend our sincere thanks to our parents and families for their unwavering encouragement and support throughout the students' educational journey. We are also especially grateful to our teaching and support staff, whose commitment, expertise and hard work have played a vital role in helping our students succeed.

"Most importantly, we would like to congratulate all of our students on their excellent results and wish them every success as they take their next steps in education, training or employment. We are extremely proud of all they have accomplished."

Beaulieu:

More than a third of grades were awarded at A*-A and 60% at A*-B.

90% of grades for students following vocational Level 3 qualification grades were awarded at A*-A equivalent and 100% at A*-B equivalent.

98% of pupils were accepted to their top university choices.

"These are strong results across the breadth of qualifications we offer and reflect a great deal of hard work from our young people and staff."
