Jersey Airshow organisers say they need last-minute funding or September's display risks being cancelled.
The show is usually funded through private sponsorship and government funding, but ministers changed the eligibility criteria for grants earlier this year to ensure 'value for money'.
It means they have put events, such as the air display, out to tender.
Organisers say the Economic Develop Minister, Deputy Kirstin Morel, has said they will give to this year's show but will half the grant to £40,000 and say it'll be subject to 'certain conditions'.
They claim that they are still waiting for those conditions.
Sponsors have also pulled out of the event because of the uncertainty of whether it will go ahead, which has left a £75,000 shortfall in funding.
Bosses say if they have to cancel the show, it will create reputational damage to the island and negatively impact the economy as spectators travelling here will cancel their trips.
Now organisers hope that at least 15 islanders or companies will come forward with at least £5,000 each so the show can go ahead.
