26 Victoria Village homes get planning permission

26 new homes will be built in Victoria Village, after a successful planning appeal.

An independent inspector has found in favour of the development, which was refused by the Planning Committee in April.

Castletree Eco Village applied to partially demolish an existing property and redevelop the site into 26 homes with parking and gardens on La Ruette, La Rue du Moulin du Ponterrin in Trinity.

The road will be widened and existing vehicle access will be moved.  It was this aspect , and concerns about parking, road safety and the character of the rural road that had raised objections from local residents.

The grade 4 listed bakehouse will be kept.

As a result of the inspector's conclusions, the Planning Minister Senator Mark Boleat has granted permission.

A government statement says 'the Minister is required to support that recommendation unless there are clear planning reasons for reaching a different conclusion'.
