96 More Covid Cases Recorded

Another 96 people have been diagnosed with coronavirus in Jersey in the last 24 hours - taking the total number of active cases above 500.

That is the highest daily total recorded since the pandemic started. The previous daily high was 68.

Fewer tests were carried out on Saturday because one of the on-island testing robots failed. People who were tested were warned that they would have to wait a bit longer to get their result.

The average test turnaround time has increased to 14 hours.

30 people who had the virus have recovered. It brings the number of active cases up to 516.

3618 direct contacts have been identified. People who think they are a direct contact are being asked to wait for up to 48 hours to be contacted because of the huge increase in demand on the Contact Tracing Team.

The 14 day number of cases per 100,000 population is up to 489.8.

Another person is in hospital with the virus - taking the total up to 17.
