Investment is going into Jersey's departure lounge in a redevelopment of the 1997 design.
Work kicks off next month on a major redesign of Jersey Airport's departure lounge.
The new space will take inspiration from Jersey's landscape, as well as adding more practical amenities including more food and retail options, dedicated quiet zones, a family space and views over the runway.
There will also be a sunflower room to support passengers who need to break away from the noise and lights of the departure lounge.
Phase one, which includes clearing spaces and moving seating, begins next month.
The main construction works will start at the end of the summer season and last around 14 months.
Matt Thomas, CEO of Ports of Jersey, says it's going to look brilliant.
"The airport is in much need of investment over a long period of time. It feels a bit tired. We're going to bring it up to 2025.
"We're working with a really cool bunch of stakeholders - Visit Jersey, Durrell, the National Trust for Jersey - to capture from them what makes Jersey brilliant, and then how do we incorporate that into the look, design and feel of the airport."
The upstairs of the airport, which has been undergoing work, opens on Friday.
Ports of Jersey cannot confirm a price for the refurbishment.
They have confirmed there will be no taxpayer support needed.
