Amazon has apologised to islanders after they experienced difficulty ordering items.
The online retail giant has released a statement saying sorry for the issues many people were met with when trying to place shopping orders over the past few days.
"We’re sorry that some customers in Jersey may have temporarily experienced issues while shopping. This was a technical issue which has now been resolved."
Customers were finding that an error message would appear when they tried to buy items. It said they could not be delivered to the island
Some savvy shoppers spotted they could overcome the problem by changing the country in their addresses to the United Kingdom rather than Jersey.
The glitch has come amid growing frustrations that GST is now being added to online purchases with large retailers, including Amazon and eBay, with some customers believing the delivery issue must be linked.
Nina Driscoll, Facebook:
GST and distribution problems why would they need the inconvenience of Jersey .
Logic and logistics come to mind .
Danny Aubin, Facebook:
I had the same problem never had any problems before now when the government started putting GST on shame.
I hope amazon get it sorted, I am now getting my bits from eBay that can get sent over.
