Aquasplash will close for a fortnight, from Monday 30 November, for 'essential maintenance'.
The government, which recently took over control of the leisure centre, says it will allow for a critical electronic control panel to be replaced, so the facility can continue to run and operate safely.
Work will also be done on:
- A new water tank
- Extensive plumbing works
- Replacing ageing pipework
- Upgrading the fire alarm systems
The government says doing this now will support the long-term operation of the centre and reduce the risk of unplanned disruptions in the future.
The centre is due to reopen on Monday 14 December.
To accommodate those who'll be affected, work is ongoing to increase class programmes across other Active facilities.
Members with questions about their membership, or the closure, are asked to contact active@gov.je or call 449888.
It's the second time Aquasplash will temporarily close since late September.
It was shut for around a week after legionella bacteria was detected in some of the water outlets.
