Election: Nomination Forms Published

Candidates have to return their nomination forms to Morier House.

Nomination forms for candidates wanting to stand in this summer's election have been published.

There won't be any nomination events this year.

Candidates just have to return their forms to Morier House between Wednesday 11 May and Friday 13 May instead.

They also have to submit their manifesto and photo and will still need 10 signatures of support.

Nomination forms can be downloaded here.

A code of conduct has also been drawn up by the newly-formed Jersey Electoral Authority for candidates to follow.

Chair John Everett says they hope this new process will be well received.

"Not only is the revised form easier to navigate, but the extended submissions period also allows for plenty of time for any issues to be addressed so that all eligible candidates can be announced on vote.je on 18 May.

The Code of Conduct, alongside the advice and resources on vote.je, is designed to guide candidates through their campaign journey, but the JEA is also here to help and answer any questions along the way and we encourage any prospective candidates to get in touch with us via admin@jea.je ."

The authority was formed following a recommendation by official observers to Jersey's General Election in 2018.

This year's election will be a bit different after reforms were agreed by the States Assembly.

There will be no more Senators. The next assembly will consist of 37 Deputies and 12 Constables.
