Visitors to the Jersey Boat Show will be able to tour a Royal Navy patrol vessel.

HMS Tyne will join the annual celebration of maritime culture in St Helier Marina this weekend (2-4 May)

There will be opportunities to tour the 80metre long 1,700 tonne vessel and talk to the crew about their operations at sea.

HMS Tyne plays a vital role in safeguarding UK waters, supporting search and rescue operations, protecting fisheries and maintaining maritime security

Captain William Sadler, Jersey Harbour Master, said:

“We’re proud and excited to welcome HMS Tyne to this year’s show, strengthening an already impressive Royal Navy presence.

"The Barclays Jersey Boat Show continues to showcase everything that makes our harbour and Island special, offering visitors a unique opportunity to connect with the maritime community while enjoying a fantastic programme of activity and entertainment both on and off the water.”

The  three day event also includes live demonstrations, a family zone, music and a showcase of yachts and water craft.

Tours of HMS Tyne are free, but spaces are limited and can be pre-booked at www.jerseyboatshow.com

She will be joined by HMS Express, an Archer class patrol vessel, two Viking armoured All-Terrain Vehicles, dive tank and a food catering facility.

Lt Cdr Samual Fields from the Royal Navy is looking forward to welcoming people on board:

"We look forward to engaging with members of the public and exhibitors, showcasing the ship’s role in protecting the UK’s maritime interests and demonstrating the professionalism of our Royal Navy personnel.”

Popular favourites, the Party Crew Kids’ Zone(family), DFDS Zone (food), Geomarine Zone (demonstrations) and Solent Stevedores Main Stage (music) all return for 2026.
