Jèrriais dictionaries are being given out to all nursery children.
Children at St John's school have already got their copies of 'Man Preunmié Livre dé Mots en Jèrriais', which translates to 'My First Jèrriais Word Book.'
They contain more than 200 Jèrriais words with child-friendly illustrations and a pronunciation guide.
It's hoped this will encourage the youngsters, and their families, to take up the island's native language.
Copies will also be gifted to Jersey Library and school libraries.

The production of the books has been paid for by Soroptimist International Jersey.
Students can also learn the language online after it was added to the Linguascope website.
Former Victoria College student and Jèrriais speaker Atticus Mawby recorded the translations last summer at Channel 103's St Helier studios.
