Jersey Wanderers is asking the person who 'smashed up' their dugouts last night (13 August) to come forward and help with repairs before they offer a reward to ID them.
Jersey Wanderers Football Club posted the damage to their St Peter pitch, along with the plea, on its social media.
Mark Woodford, CEO, says the club is entirely run by volunteers:
"In a tough financial environment, we work hard for every pound we raise, and money spent repairing vandalism is money that should be going towards football for our teams across all age groups, not to mention the time it takes away from the time our volunteers can give to progress the club."
He says he'd 'genuinely like' to speak to the person or people responsible 'to understand what they thought this achieved and encourage them to reflect on their actions.'
He offers:
"Come forward, own up, help us repair the damage, and put some volunteer hours back into the club, and we’ll call it quits. No £250 reward needed, and hopefully something positive comes from something stupid.
"If not, there’s £250 for information that identifies those responsible.
"Jersey is a small place. People see things, people hear things, and word gets around.
"If we get your names first, we will be taking appropriate steps through the relevant channels.
"Please message me privately with any information."
