Jersey parent goes above and beyond during heatwave

A Jersey parent has spent hundreds of pounds to help staff and students at his son's school to keep cool during this hot weather.

Tomasz Metel brought several cases of water and ice cream to Samarès School over the last couple of days.

Tomasz said:

"I'm not a greedy person, money is important, but it's not everything, being kind to each other is the most important.

"My son goes there (Samarès) to school, I know some of the kids, it's not going to make you rich or poor to spend a couple of hundred quid for some ice-cream and for some water to make the kids feel different.

"One day we did five cases of water and seven cases of ice creams, and the next day we gave five cases of water and 14 cases of ice-creams"

Tomasz' was highlighted on social media, after Channel 103 put out a post asking people to share their 'Heatwave Good Deeds'.

Tomasz added:

"It's nice when people appreciate nice things.

It's not hard to do nice things, and it's not hard to be nice to each other, and I think when people appreciate what you do, it drives you to want to do more good things!"
