A woman has been describing how she narrowly escaped being hit by a large wheelie bin full of glass seemingly pushed from the top of the stairs at Westmount.
Jackie Davis was walking home at around 11pm on Thursday (16 December) when she heard a loud crash, and the bin came resting just yards away.
"It sounded like a bomb going off. Then it sounded like all this glass was breaking.
I could see (this bin) coming down the steps and it just stops in front of my feet. All this glass was everywhere - from the top of the steps to where the bin had stopped. Glass everywhere.
I was obviously shaken by the whole thing. Who would do that? Why would they do that?"
It left broken shards strewn across the steps. It has been reported to police, and officials have been out today to clear up the mess.
