Man Stabbed Outside St Helier Pub

A 57 year old man is being held on suspicion of attempted murder after another man was stabbed in the stomach.

Firearms officers responded to a call to the Temple Bar on Stopford Road just after 9pm on Friday (3 December).

A man in his thirties had suffered a single stab wound to the stomach.

He is in a ‘serious but stable condition’ in hospital.

Armed police arrested a 57 year old man nearby on suspicion of attempted murder. He remains in police custody.

Officers are appealing for witnesses to an alleged altercation between the two men - believed to be known to each other - inside the bar.

The force says the suspect left and returned approximately ten minutes later when it’s alleged he stabbed the victim with a kitchen knife in the doorway to the pub.

Anyone with any information should call police on 612612 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
