The Economic Development Minister says DFDS' decision to cancel Saturday sailings to the UK for four weeks is justified.
The ferry firm announced on Wednesday (4 February) it is suspending Saturday sailings of the Stena Vinga to Portsmouth between 28 February, and 22 March.
It said it is to 'support freight capacity requirements over the coming weeks'.
Customers booked on to the four affected sailings have been automatically transferred to the Friday boat.
Deputy Kirsten Morel has since told Channel 103 that the decision follows talks with Jersey Post to resolve delays to Amazon deliveries.

"This is the result of DFDS sitting down with Jersey Post to sort out the issue around Amazon deliveries that was caused by cessation of the Tuesday sailing.
"They worked together to find a solution, and that was to choose (to suspend) the Saturday sailing because it does not have many passengers booked on it in February.
"It is not good for those people who are inconvenienced, but - from the bigger picture perspective - there are not many people who are going to have to change sailing.
"I think the important thing is that we have a ferry provider who is listening to our concerns."
Tuesday sailings of the Stena Vinga are making a comeback from 17 February.
A spokesperson for Jersey Post said:
"We welcome the reintroduction of the Tuesday evening ferry service, following consultation by DFDS.
"Mondays and Tuesdays are our busiest days, with nearly half of all weekly mail arriving on these two days.
"Letters and parcels remain an important service for many islanders and businesses, helping to keep Jersey connected."
