Ministers Publish 2023 Priorities

Ministers have set out their personal aims for the next 12 months, including a new population policy and transforming health and care services.

The Ministerial Plans will set out each Minister’s priorities for the year ahead and will be updated annually.

It follows the release last week of the Government Plan and Common Strategic Plan, in which the Council of Ministers set seven priorities.

We were told Ministerial Plans would follow, detailing how those priorities would be met.

An extract from the Chief Minister's own priority list:

The Housing Minister intends to publish a ‘long term sustainable housing’ strategy and to open the affordable housing gateway to more people.

Treasury Minister Deputy Ian Gorst will review Stamp Duty regulations in a further bid to get more people onto the property ladder.

With the cost of living crisis, Social Security Minister Deputy Elaine Miller is working on support for families that don’t have their five year residency and revising the community cost bonus.

The 60+ page document also includes a timetable for law changes that will be brought forward in 2023.

The Chief Minister says her team will work together with islanders to create a thriving community.

“As a Council of Ministers, we are committed to restoring trust and leading a compassionate Government that delivers for islanders’ needs.

These Ministerial Plans provide all Ministers with a clear platform setting their annual priorities, and include decisive and responsible action on issues affecting islanders." - Deputy Kristina Moore
