It will cost around 7.5% more to park in Jersey from next week.
One unit will cost 97 pence from 1 March, up from 90p,
The Infrastructure Minister says the rise is below inflation, which is at a 40 year high of 12.7%, and some of the money will be used to fund road safety improvements.
“We have looked very carefully at the parking charges and while this is a significant increase, we are pleased to announce that we’ve been able to keep it well below Retail Price Index.
In addition, we are delighted to say that some of the revenue from this below-inflation rise will be used to fund road safety improvement measures.” - Deputy Tom Binet.
