Record Employment Rates Before Coronavirus Hit

61,500 jobs were filled in Jersey as of December last year - the highest figure in that month recorded to date.

That's 650 more than the previous year.

The number of jobs and private and public sectors increased by 380 and 280 respectively.

Nearly 6,500 of those jobs were zero-hours contracts.

The next report is set to be very different, with many jobs lost and business severely impacted by the Coronavirus pandemic.
