New artwork showcasing the work of the Salvation Army in Jersey is now on show on the Le Masurier Merchant Square site hoardings in town.
It was designed by Year 6 pupils at Grands Vaux, Rouge Bouillon, and Springfield schools.
Local artist Jacques Le Breton then took their work to create the big mural, which will be on display until the development is finished.
It features the work the Salvation Army does in the community, the community cafe, and the charity shop.
"It has been a pleasure to work with three town schools which have all shown such enthusiasm for the project and the work The Salvation Army does here in Jersey. Each of the designs created captures the work we do perfectly, including serving free soup daily, making sure no-one goes hungry; offering practical help with food bags, vouchers and starter packs; pastoral support for those who need a listening ear; and running a charity shop which sells affordable good-quality clothing.

"It has been fantastic to work with local artist Jacques, who has brought the children’s drawings to life." - Emily Smith, Community Centre Manager.
The £70million redevelopment of Merchant Square includes a 149 new apartments, another Premier Inn hotel, and a new restaurant and bar.

"We were very excited at the opportunity to work with The Salvation Army who have led this community project with the primary schools. The initiative has enabled the charity to educate on all aspects of the amazing community work they provide in a really creative and colourful way. It most certainly enhances Bath Street during our Merchants Square development.
"We are also delighted to be able to offer the schools £300, which will be going towards vouchers for the schools, and Springfield is kindly donating back to The Salvation Army." - Brian McCarthy, Managing Director.
