Three Jersey Visitor Sites Win Tourism Awards

Three visitor sites in Jersey have won prestigious tourism industry awards.

Jersey Museum has taken the top 'Gold Accolade'  in the VisitEngland 2021-22 Visitor Attractions Accolades - alongside the likes of Chatsworth House and Chester Zoo.

La Hougue Bie and Hamptonne Country Life Museum have been named 'Hidden Gems'.

VisitEngland assess and scores each site for its Visitor Attraction Quality Scheme, with the highest rankings for those that go the extra mile to give guests the best experiences.

A spokesperson for the industry body described the Jersey sites as 'testament to the high standards achieved, which our assessor felt were truly deserving of recognition.'

La Hougue Bie was named a 'Hidden Gem'

Hilary Grimes, Jersey Heritage’s Head of Visitor Services, says this year has been especially pleasing as visitor numbers are starting to return to pre-Covid levels.

"The past couple of years have been really tough on our industry and to have come out the other side of the pandemic with these accolades is a tribute to our amazing staff and volunteers."

Despite VisitEngland offering advice, support and quality assessments principally for tourism and hospitality in England, Jersey Heritage has been signed up to the assessment scheme for a number of years.
