Town Lights Switch-On Tonight

Come wind or rain, Santa Claus is coming to town tonight (16 November).

The Christmas lights are being turned on in St Helier.

After having to cancel the festive celebration in 2022, the parish said it was determined to put on this year's event.

" Christmas is such an important time for our town centre.  It is the couple of months of the year that our businesses really, really rely on so absolutely we should be doing all we can to support our town.

We didn't do (the light switch-on) last year, so we thought we'd come back with a bit of a bang." - Connor Burgher, Town Centre Manager.

Families can look forward to the parade which will leave Millennium Town Park at 6.30pm.

Santa and his elves will be switching on the lights as they make their way through town to the Weighbridge.

There, islanders will find a new Christmas Village, with entertainment, food and drink and stalls from 12pm-9pm.

The finale is due at 8pm.

The route:

Millennium Park
West's Centre
Queen Street
Kings Street
Charing Cross
Sand Street
Commercial Street
Wharf Street
Weighbridge
