51 year old Andrew Louis has been handed a custodial sentence, serving 18 months in prison after he pleaded guilty to the cultivation of cannabis.

Ian Mason (52) pleaded guilty to the same offence and was given an 18 month suspended sentence by the Royal Court.

The pair were arrested in October 2021 after officers found a grow a grow site at St Saviour's hospital.

Following an investigation, police identified Mason and Louis as the people tending to the plants and arrested them on 4 October 2021.

The next day another larger, 'well established' grow site was found at a derelict greenhouse in St Saviour, and Louis turned up to the site while officers were still there.

Police seized cannabis worth more than £76,000.

"Officers have been kept busy this year and we will continue to work hard to keep illegal drugs out of the supply chain and bring those offenders before the courts" - Police Sergeant Lynn Lang from the Drug Squad.
