Catching the bus in Guernsey will now be quicker and easier with the introduction of contactless payment services.
Bus services operated by CT Plus will accept contactless payments starting Monday the 16th of September.
This means devices such as phones and watches will also be able to register on the ticket machine.
However CT Plus has stressed that this payment option will only be available to customers purchasing single tickets and one and two day passes.
Karl Guille, Director of Traffic & Highway Services, has released the following statement:
“We are delighted to be offering our customers the option to purchase their bus tickets by using contactless payments. It is vital that we update and improve the services we offer in order to meet the needs of our community. With the increase in use of smartphones and smartwatches, we felt it was important to investigate and implement contactless payments. It is anticipated that this new payment methodwill encourage more people to use the bus service by reducing reliance on the need to carry cash.”
