The island and a local resident have both been recognised by the Royal Horticultural Society.
Alderney has won a Gold award in the Coastal category at the RHS Britain in Bloom Awards.
It was nominated by Floral Guernsey and competed against six other entries, narrowly missing out on the top award to North Berwick in Scotland.
Judges, who visited in July, praised Alderney’s floral displays and strong community involvement.
Jenny Richardson, who led the island’s entry, was also named a Community Champion for her work.
Chairman of the Alderney Horticultural Society, Donald Hughes says both awards are incredible achievements.
“This is a wonderful result for Alderney and a real reflection of what makes our Island so special.
"The Gold award recognises the quality of our horticultural displays, while Jenny’s Community Champion award recognises her personal dedication and the tremendous contribution she has made to Britain in Bloom in our community.
"We are incredibly proud of both achievements and grateful to everyone who has contributed.”
