Alex Scott named in England squad

Bournemouth midfielder Guernsey's Alex Scott has been named in Thomas Tuchel's first England squad since the World Cup.

The announcement follows the 23 year old making his European competition debut with a goal assist in Bournemouth's 2-1 win over Real Sociedad last night (17 September)

Scott got his senior England call up last November, but is still waiting for his first cap.

He missed out on a place in the 26 Tuchel took to the 2026 World Cup, but joined the group in Florida for training.

He was praised by Tuchel for his outstanding commitment and character.

At today's press conference, Tuchel said:

"(He's a) fantastic football player, fantastic character, so humble. I think he is one of the very best midfielders at the moment in the Premier League, so he deserves to be with us."

England play  World Cup holders Spain in the Nations League on Saturday 26 September 26, followed by games against Czech Republic and Croatia.
