Guernsey's postal tariffs will change 1 April 2025.
Sending a standard UK letter will increase by 14% (or 17p) from £1.20 to £1.37.
The price of a local standard letter will increase by 4p from 65p to 69p - a 6% increase.
Parcel prices, big or small, going near or far, will not change this April.
Guernsey Post says its latest tariff means sending a letter around the Bailiwick remains cheaper than other jurisdictions, including Jersey.
Sending a letter or parcel to the UK from Guernsey remains comparatively quite expensive.
The CEO of Guernsey Post Steve Sheridan says they continue to face unprecedented cost increases in the supply chain.
“We understand that price changes are never welcome.
"While we have worked hard to absorb many of these increases, we cannot avoid passing some on.
"However, where we have direct control over pricing, such as within the Bailiwick, we have tried to keep any increases broadly in line with local RPI, the exception to this being our local parcel rates which we are pleased to have been able to freeze.
"Additionally, we have held prices in growth areas such as our popular £5 Fixed Returns service; this now accounts for 73% of our returns volumes and will be frozen for the second consecutive year.
"Our UK large parcel rates will also be frozen to support our local customers.
"Our focus remains on delivering excellent service whilst balancing the financial pressures affecting the postal and logistics industry.”
Full details of all 2025 prices will be available on the Guernsey Post website on Monday 17 March.
From Monday 7 April all inbound post will come to the island by boat. The mail plane service with Royal Mail ends on 4 April, though new arrangements have been made to still take outbound post by air.
