Private investors have allowed Under The Watchful Gaze to begin filming in February.
Guernsey-born filmmaker Gene Fallaize is continuing work on a feature film exploring the hardships of life on the island under Nazi occupation.
The project, called Under The Watchful Gaze, was announced in April, with local actors brought on board and filming initially planned for the summer.
However, delays in securing financial backing have pushed it back.
Gene says that after pitching to private investors in Guernsey, the crew now plans to return to the island in mid-February.
"We've had to kind of rethink the finance model completely.
"We've kind of wiped the state clean of everything that we normally do and think, how can we do this in a different way that means that it's doable in Guernsey, that it benefits Guernsey, still gets the film made.
"Pitching to people here that have never invested in film before needed a kind of back to basics, a full this is how film works, this is how this film works, here's what the story is.
"We had two full presentations, and we've had just amazing responses.
"It's very Guernsey, it's very unique."
Cupsogue Pictures hopes to film all the outdoor scenes over 10 days during the winter.
The final cut is expected to be ready by summer 2027, with an official release planned for the second half of the year.
Gene says that the typical winter weather won't hinder them while filming:
"It's not a particularly happy story, it's quite gloomy, so that kind of windswept look really goes in our favour.
"Snow will work. Short of a major storm, anything else we can kind of work with."
