Daily water consumption peaked in late July but relatively little went into reserves.
As in the two previous dry summers of 2025 and 2022, Guernsey Water is not considering a hosepipe ban, yet.
And in both those years it managed on reserves until the wet winter.
But it is concerned about daily use and the stress on supplies of a continued dry, hot summer.
It says we took 14.2 million litres from the system in the past fortnight, which is 700,000 litres more than average.
Stream collection in the last week of July dropped to 11 million litres, around half that of the previous week.
Storage overall is 4% down on this time last year.
Guernsey Water quality manager Daffyd Griffiths says now is the time to stop water wastage:
"Although a hosepipe ban is not currently being considered, the situation underlines why every drop counts.
"Your lawn will recover, your car can stay dusty for a little longer and small changes around the home really do add up.
"Every one of us has a role to play in protecting the island's water resources, particularly when dry conditions persist for an extended period."
