A burglar has been jailed for 15 months for stealing from Guernsey's Town Church.
In January, 39 year old Kyle Henderson smashed an offerings container and took the contents.
He had forced his way in through a window and used a fire extinguisher to smash the vestry door.
CCTV showed him moving around by torchlight, pulling the offerings tube to the floor, kicking it and dragging it away.
The damage he caused was estimated at around £5,000.
At the time, The Reverend Penny Greysmith told Island FM:
"The individual who entered the building decided to pull our very very heavy donations tube, which is a significant piece of furniture, right across the building.
There is significant damage to our 200-year-old beautiful wooden floor, which was restored fantastically in October 2023, its first restoration for over a generation."
Police used CCTV to track Henderson to his home, and found the jacket he had been wearing in the footage discarded nearby.
Henderson pleaded guilty at the Magistrate's Court and has been sentenced to 15 months in prison.
