Doug and Dame Mary Perkins, who co-founded Specsavers in Guernsey over 40 years ago, are recognised for their contribution to British retail.
Specsavers founders Doug and Dame Mary Perkins have received a Lifetime Contribution Award at the Retail Gazette Awards in London.
The couple founded Specsavers in Guernsey in 1984.
The opticians now have more than 2,600 stores across 11 countries.
The award marks the founders' role in building one of the UK's best-known retail businesses and helping transform access to optical and audiology care.
Dame Mary says she feels honoured:
"I was genuinely surprised to receive this award.
"It's a real honour to be recognised by the industry, especially as Doug and I approach 60 years in optics.
"What makes it even more special is knowing that Specsavers has only ever been possible because of the passion and commitment of our partners and colleagues.
"They've helped shape the business from day one and continue to make a difference for our customers every day."
