By-election For Constable In St Clement

There will be an election in St Clement for a new Constable to succeed the late Len Norman.

Hotelier Marcus Troy and former Deputy Simon Bree will contest the vacant seat.  

Longstanding Constable Norman died last month at the age of 73.

He was the island's longest-serving politician, with 37 years' service and had been a Deputy, Senator and Constable in that time.  

Parishioners will vote on 28 July.

The winning candidate will be sworn into office two days later.

They will become a States Member until the next island-wide general election on 22 June 2022.

St Clement parishioner over the age of 16 have until 21 July to register to vote.
