There was a gold for Jersey's women in the team tennis.

Jersey have 10 gold, 11 silver and 10 bronze medals after two days of competition at the 2023 Island Games.

Team Jersey has picked up a total of 31 medals so far and sits second behind the hosts going into day three in Guernsey.

They added to their tally of 7 won on Day 1.

There were four medals in the archery including gold for Lucy O'Sullivan.

In swimming, there were golds for Isaac Dodds in the 200m butterfly, Robert Jones in the 50m backstroke and Gemma Atherley in the 200m freestyle.

In athletics Lucy Woodward followed her gold in the triple jump with a bronze in the javelin, and there was a third place finish for Evan Campbell in the shotput in front of the Footes Lane crowd:

"I am really feeding off their energy there.  I feel like I thrived off the atmosphere. It was amazing!"

Jersey's Antonia Sokic and Natasha Forest brought home gold in the team tennis event, on the eve of Antonia's 22 birthday:

"Absolutely so incredible. I was just so excited and just having a lot of fun on court."

The men's tennis team also took gold.

On the pitch, Jersey's men thrashed Menorca 4-0 to sit top of their group.

Manager Elliot Powell was delighted:

"Really it's another day when the goalkeeper has not had to do too much, and a few goals on  top to finish it off.

It's nice to come through with a 4-0 win and really the group should be in our hands."

Jersey play St Helena - who are yet to win a match - this morning in a 10.30 kick off.

The women bounced back from defeat in their opening game against Bermuda to beat Aland 4-1.

Earlier in the day, Flo Thomas had taken silver in the cycling time trial, with bronze and John Pallot and another for the men's team.

There were also more medals for Jersey in shooting  - including a silver for Ben Videgrain, and there was a bronze in the open triple at indoor bowls.
