Islanders can again apply for the Community Costs Bonus and Cold Weather Bonus for 2025.
Applications for the 2025 Community Costs Bonus and Cold Weather Bonus are now open.
The Community Costs Bonus - this year at £516.50 - is an annual payment to help households with cost-of-living pressures.
A household can claim when:
- At least 1 adult member has been resident in Jersey for the last 5 years
- The household had a combined tax liability of less than £2,735 for 2024
- No member of the household within the previous 7 days of application had an open Income Support Claim.

The Cold Weather Bonus is designed to help pensioner households, who did not have a Tax liability for 2024, with the cost of heating during the winter months.
To claim the Cold Weather Bonus, you must be eligible for the Community Costs Bonus, with the addition of three more requirements:
- The household must include an adult who is over 65, has reached pensionable age in Jersey and is receiving a Jersey old age pension or has 10 years' continuous residency
- You, or your spouse or partner, must either own the home or be responsible for a lease
- No adult in the household should have received a cold weather payment from Income Support for the cold weather month
Customers who were eligible for an automatic payment and have received their 2024 tax assessment will have received their payment by 24 July.
The government are asking islanders to wait until they have received their 2024 tax liability to apply.
