Got The Feelin' FIVE Will Be At CI Pride

Channel Islands Pride 2023 is predicted to be the biggest yet, with FIVE confirmed as the headline act, along with special guests from Liverpool's Eurovision.

The 'Keep On Movin' and 'Got The Feelin' singers will be gracing the main stage at Jersey's People's Park on 16 September.

The 90s boy band will be joined by Eurovision 2023's semi-final interval drag acts Tomara Thomas and Mercedes Bends.

The drag stars will be supported by an entire line-up of drag talent, including Paige Three, Flesh, and Miss Leigh Ding.

Ellie Prohan has also been announced as the headline DJ for the event and is a member of the LGBTQ+ community, and an advocate of women, intersectionality, and marginalised communities.

Pride Director Christian May says islanders can expect huge celebrations this year, with the Pride Parade making a much-anticipated comeback.

"The responses I've had back are people who have been in their offices and have spontaneously started singing FIVE songs like 'Keep on Movin' ' and 'If You're Gettin' Down,' so I think it shows that Pride in Jersey is growing.

It's getting the attention from UK artists as well because we want to put Jersey on the map as an LGBTQ destination of choice, and somewhere where both the artists and members of the public and community want to come to."

Some of the Pride celebrations last year were put on pause due to the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.

It means Jersey's streets have not seen a Pride Parade since before the pandemic in 2019.

"You don't have to be part of the LGBTQ community or another minority community to come and enjoy it.

If you want to support the island being a diverse and welcoming place for a whole community, if you want to enjoy yourself, bring your family, listen to some fantastic music, go into the family zone, the community zone, you can do so for free and that's what's really special about pride."

The 2023 Channel Islands Pride Village will be kitted out with many attractions, including a large Family Zone, Community and Wellbeing Zones, Bars and Food Village and a new area for four-legged allies.

Throughout the day, the Jersey Electricity Main Stage, hosted by Dr Adam Perchard, the new Cabaret Stage and Silent Disco will also showcase plenty of local talent, including Jersey-based singers, bands and performers, such as Sister Disco and SHEA.
