Jersey Police say Richard Romeril, who had been missing in Jersey since last Friday, has been found safe and well.
The 48 year old was located in St Peter just before two o clock this morning by a police officer on patrol.
The force is thanking islanders for helping with the search by checking their land and CCTV.
"We want to extend our thanks to the public for searching in their gardens, sheds and out-houses and to those who checked their CCTV and called in with information."
Officers had made several appeals for information over the past six days, including giving details of Mr Romerils last known movements on Friday 8 September, when he purchased camping equipment in town and visited B&Q.
Concerns for his welfare increased after his car was found that afternoon at Noirmont. Missing person flyers were distributed around St Brelade.
The search included the use of drones and dogs, police, fire service, Jersey Search and Rescue and a French search helicopter.
