Storm Update: St Catherine Slipway Closes

Six weeks on from Storm Ciaran, more damage is being found despite efforts to get Jersey back to normality.

Cracks ranging from 50 mm and 150 mm in width have been discovered, with more damage found to the stonework towards the lower end of the slipway.

Vehicles are not allowed to drive on the slip, and islanders are asked to take care.

Signs have been erected to alert people to the dangers.

Work will start soon to fix the damaged area.

There is better news regarding Jersey parks, however.

Coronation Park is open to visitors again, with both play areas cleared of debris.

Some tree stumps remain within the grounds but have been taped off for removal in the new year.

Meanwhile, Howard Davis Park and the western side of Churchill Park are also open to islanders.

The east side of the park in St Brelade will be cleared next week, along with Mount Bingham Park.

Significant progress has been made along the Railway Walk.

Fallen trees have been cleared, but the paths are closed due to hung-up branches and leaning trees.
