A man has been rescued in a dramatic three hour long recovery operation after falling down a cliff while climbing near Grosnez Castle.
Firefighters were called to the island's north west coast just before 7pm on Thursday evening (3 September).
A UK helicopter was called in to help because of the man's position in a gully.
It provided light while the crews used rope to hoist the man to safety in a three hour long recovery operation.
He's being treated in hospital for his injuries. We're told his condition is stable.
Jersey Fire and Rescue Service says it was a technically challenging rescue operation on steep and complex terrain. Drones were also used to help guide the team.
Station Manager Ryan Hall has praised the combined efforts of Control room staff, Fire and Rescue Service crews, Jersey Coastguard, States of Jersey Ambulance Service, Air Rescue Drone Team, and helicopter personnel.
“The complexities of the rescue demonstrated the experience and professionalism of the crews, and their efforts are to be commended.
"The incident also highlighted the collaborative working amongst the emergency responders and the support provided by all our emergency colleagues."
