Bike2Work Month on Island FM with Ian Browns Cycle Shop.
The clocks have gone forward, days are getting longer, and hopefully weather starts to improve so May is a great time to Bike to Work!
So many reasons why:
- It's healthy

- Decreases traffic
- Positive impact on mental health……to name but a few
So this month, we want to encourage anyone working in Guernsey to take up the challenge and wherever possible start cycling to work. And with the advent of technology it doesn’t need to be the hard slog it was with E’bike’s so popular and readily available.
And here’s another really good incentive – why not beat the traffic jams AND….raise money for charity!
Island FM are asking work places to get together, and join up and make a difference. Why not have some personal challenges and a bit of competition. And to make your life easier we have even prepared a sponsorship form so that you can get involved. You can choose the charity of your choice or a charity that Island FM & Ian Browns would like to recommend – Wheels for You! At Wheels for You, they believe in the power of cycling to transform lives. Their mission is to create accessible cycling opportunities for individuals who are unable to ride or access traditional two-wheeled bicycles. They have established a community accessible cycling hub at Les Beaucamps High School, where people of all ages and abilities can experience the joy of cycling, along with its associated health benefits, in a safe and inclusive environment. Simply by your joining in Bike2Work month you could help others who previously would have been unable to enjoy the benefits and pleasure on riding a bike!
And even if you don’t want to get sponsors, why not donate what you save in fuel alone during the month of may simply by getting on your bike!
