Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh will visit Guernsey on 12 August 2024.
As Royal Patron of the Association of Sail Training Organisations, Sophie will meet the 140 young people who will be participating in the Small Ships Race from Guernsey to Poole.
The 12 boats are due to depart St Peter Port on 13 August.
The Association says it wants to inspire under 25s to join the sport, as the RNLI celebrates it's 200th Anniversary.
Guernsey's Lieutenant-Governor, General Richard Cripwell says sailing builds character.
"We are exceptionally fortunate to be hosting this short visit by Her Royal Highness in her capacity as Patron of an organisation that is particularly relevant to these islands.
The sea is a wonderful environment for developing leadership and resilience in young people, and Guernsey provides the perfect setting for this event.
We hope that Her Royal Highness has a very enjoyable day here."
Her Royal Highness is also expected to go for a short sail in local waters during her visit.
She last came to Guernsey with Her husband Prince Edward in 2022, to mark the 77th Liberation Day.
This will be Guernsey's second Royal visit this summer, as the island welcomed King Charles and Queen Camilla last week. (16 July)
