Jersey footballer Luke Harris has signed an extended contract with club Fulham FC following his 18th birthday.

It means that the midfielder will remain with the Premier League side until at least 2026, with a 'club option’ for an additional year.

Harris first joined the Cottagers in 2014 at the under-10 level before progressing through the age groups.

Speaking to the West London club, Luke says he's really happy to be staying even longer.

"Ever since I arrived here, I've settled in really well which was really important as I moved here on my own at the age of 13.

At first, it was difficult, but looking back now I can see that it was all worth it. It feels like home here and I'm loving my journey at Fulham."

Harris was called up to Wales' UEFA Nations League squad for games against Belgium and Poland in September 2022.

He made his first senior start for Fulham in the Carabao Cup against Crawley.

His career highlights so far this season have included coming on a substitute against Manchester City, and starting against Sunderland in the FA Cup.

Huw Jennings, head of football development at Fulham says they are delighted.

"What's really important is that Luke has already been here a long time and he's showing commitment to want to be at Fulham.

Hopefully, as he has demonstrated through his long-term commitment, we're going to see him grow to become a considerable asset for Fulham in the future."
