Lucian-Mihai Gora has been sentenced to three years in prison for grave and criminal assault on a 16-year-old girl.
Police were called to La Colomberie in town and found a 16-year-old girl with a head injury.
She told officers that a man she didn’t know had made inappropriate sexual comments towards her group of friends.
That had led to argument in which the older man hit the teenager several times on the head and in the face, which made her fall to the ground, and then he proceeded to kick her in the stomach.
Officers found Gora nearby and identified him as the same man who, earlier than evening (21 October 2023) had spat at two door staff at Tiki Hut because he’d been refused entry for being drunk.
Gora admitted grave and criminal assault, two counts of common assault, and assault on police for spitting at the officer who arrested him.
The Royal Court has jailed him for three years, banned him from licensed premises for 18 months and recommend his deportation on release from prison.
Detective Sergeant Jim McGranahan said:
“These violent offences are unpleasant and disturbing, particularly as it involved young persons being subjected to inappropriate sexual comments and led to one of them being physically attacked.
“We hope that today’s outcome will help provide the victims with reassurance that we will do everything possible to see offenders such as Gora being brought to justice.”
